Ruth is the Advocacy Manager for Wine Marlborough, the regional association for grape growers and winemakers in Marlborough, where 80% of New Zealand’s wine grapes are grown. Her role includes working with industry and stakeholders to address key issues for the industry, including climate change and resource management.

Prior to joining Wine Marlborough, Ruth was in the Research and Science sector, including as Co-Director (Tangata Tiriti) of the Building Better Homes Towns and Cities National Science Challenge, and strategy roles in the building and construction, infrastructure, hazards, and environment sectors.
